Meet Chef Brittaney Seaton and Mark Your Calendars for Our Culinary Event
Home is where the heart is, yet as so many of us who love a good meal know, the quickest way to the heart can be through the stomach—or taste buds. Our culinary services team is dedicated to nourishing our residents, body and soul, with tasty, heart-healthy meals.
To celebrate, we’re hosting a special “Caring is a Work of Heart” culinary event, and invite you to join us for a delicious meal and to learn about the benefits our residents receive from our nutritional strategy. Mark your calendars for Saturday, February 4th, from 11:00am - 1:00pm, when Chef Brittaney Seaton offers you the chance to experience the great flavor and warm feeling of a delicious meal with our culinary team.
Bethesda Gardens is very proud to introduce Chef Brittaney Seaton. The oldest of seven children, Brittaney has fond memories of helping her mother in the kitchen as she and her siblings grew up, giving her a love of cooking and creativity in the kitchen. A self-taught chef, Brittaney has been cooking professionally for 16 years, most recently at a local hospital system for seven years before joining Bethesda Gardens in 2014.
Brittaney’s passion is for baking cakes, pastries and desserts, which gives our monthly Breakfast & Bingo extra appeal. If you’ve tried her s’mores, pumpkin or eggnog pancakes, we’re sure you agree! Brittaney is equally skilled in savory dishes, and uses her knowledge to create tempting, healthy alternatives but believes with moderation, most dishes aren’t taboo.
“Thanks to our dining experience, we’ve seen residents who isolate themselves become more social,” Brittaney says. “We encourage them to sit with different people at meals, meeting and making new friends. While they visit, they eat healthy portions and have an enjoyable encounter. It has helped residents maintain healthy weight when we’ve been concerned over someone’s health.”
