Community Grant Supports the ‘Teen Challenge’

Bethesda Gardens Terre Haute made the news recently for a grant we provided to a local ministry in need. In June, our community donated $1000 to the Wabash Valley Teen Challenge, an organization offering Christ-center, faith-based solutions for youths, adults and families who struggle with life-controlling problems such as drug and alcohol addiction.

“As a faith-based organization, service is at the heart of our mission,” said Lisa Dashiell, Executive Director of Bethesda Gardens. “We want to serve with grace, not only our residents but our greater community where we operate. Teen Challenge does important work with care, compassion and faith in Jesus Christ, so we’re proud to be able to support their efforts.”

The organization will use the grant money in several ways, including tools for their work program as well as clothes and food for the Wabash Valley Men’s Center.

“The cost is pretty high, as you can imagine (with) having 16 guys in the facility, to be able to take care of those guys,” Pastor Jeremy Touchet, a representative from the Wabash Valley Teen Challenge, told local news station WTHITV.

In June, Bethesda Gardens also awarded $1000 grants each to Meals on Wheels, The Wabash Activity Center, Senior Education Ministries, VNA & Hospice of the Wabash Valley and The Helping Hands.
